Use the notes outline to help you understand the issues and the compromise surrounding Missouri. You should record both the North and South's reaction/response to each issue. Some of the information will be clearly described in the textbook and some will require you to read between the lines and use what you know about the North and the South.
Create a Venn Diagram (or compare and contrast chart) for the North and the South in the 1800's. You should have at least 4 notes in each section.
Use the information in Chapter 19 to compare and contrast the North and the South.
Create the following graphic organizer on page 61 and 62. Label the first" North" and the second "South". Use the textbook to take at least 4 notes for each section.
Tomorrow in class we will write an in-class essay. This page in your spiral is to help you outline your argument for the essay.
Directions: Write a well-organized 5-paragraph essay that includes an introduction, several paragraphs, and a conclusion. Use evidence from at least three documents in the body of the essay to answer the following question. Support your response with relevant facts, examples, and details. Include additional outside information if possible (class notes, book reference, etc.).
Historical Context and Essay Prompt:

Use the following questions to help guide your note-taking. Your notes should make sense on their own when the questions are not in front of you.
